WoW and WAR at the same time!?
I’ve been a bit absent from this site for a few days. Sorry about that. The latest changes to World of Warcraft have me playing my Shaman (ugh he needs better gear!) a bit. I wanted to see what was done. I’m liking the changes enough that I will probably be splitting my time between [...]
Learn MoreIn Warhammer Online, the Sorceress career has a bit more to think about while perfecting a spell rotation for leveling. How much dark magic do you have? What level are the mobs? How far are you from the mob? And more, but basically it’s the bit about the dark magic; it’s sort of unique to WAR. Here are three rotations to think about while leveling (single target killing btw):
You have 80+ dark magic and mobs are 1-2 levels lower than you:
Much of the time, the mob is dead just from that. If not, just DoT (Chillwind) the mob and leave it to die. Move right along to killing your next target.
You have < 20 dark magic and mobs are 1-2 levels lower than you:
- Doombolt
- Chillwind
- Gloomburst
- Doombolt
Mob is usually dead after that, if not; keep repeating doombolt/gloomburst until dead.
You have 80+ dark magic and mobs are equal or greater level:
At max range,
- Doombolt
- Doombolt
- Gloomburst
- Doombolt
- Gloom burst
Repeat Doombolt/Gloomburst until dead.
Or,
- Doombolt
- Chillwind
- Doombolt
- Gloomburst
- Doombolt
- Gloomburst
Repeat Doombolt/Gloomburst until dead.
Essentially if you have a lot of dark magic, use your slow casting, heavy hitting spells.

What if you have a little under 50% health, and a mob (2 higher levels than you) spawned next you, and you have 80+ DM?
Also, you never use arctic blast? I use this if a mob is mad close to me, since it’s a fast cast.
I blow myself up all the time. I think i’m gunna switch to apothecary and cultivating. Those are probably the best professions for a sorceress, since I’m not always with a healer, and i’m always taking damage. An abundance of health pots would be pretty sweet.

Hi Murielle, thanks for stopping by SpellDamage. If I’m at < 50% health, I still continue the rotation (even with > 80% dark magic). Of course, use situational awareness… if you’ve got aggro on more than one mob, perhaps you need to dump your dark magic and work on killing them both at once. Blowing yourself up when more than one mob is attacking you is suicide… unfortunately.
Apothecary is a good idea… I don’t have any crafting professions on my sorc.
ReplySorry, but what you are stating here really sounds like a bad rotation.
I play a sorc myself ( lvl 33 atm ). Try this rotation:
No matter what your Dhar is, in my opinion this is the best rotation:
(Obviously use common sense and dont self-destruct)
Chillwind (start of the fight allows it to reach full duration, and thus dealing max dmg)
Artic blast (Slowing effect procs due to Chillwind)
Doom bolt (gogo nuke)
Gloom burst Killing blow…?
(Mobs of equal level will be dead if at least 1 of 3 instant dmg spells crit)
If NOT:
Grip of fear, possibly throw a doombolt, or a gloom burst if sufficient.

I’ll try out your rotation! Thanks for sharing.
Actually, I’ve been doing things a bit differently as I’ve gotten a bit higher. Now I Doombolt, Gloomburst, Chillwind, Infernal Wave, Gloomburst. Works very well… I’ll write more about it soon.
Thanks for the comment!
